HC-332 Inspection in Shandong Province

With the continuous development of UAV technology, more and more application areas, especially the high labor risk, difficult to complete the inspection work are gradually replaced by inspection drones, more and more industries accept drones to assist in the completion of the work. Maritime patrol has always been an important work, but the use of sea patrol vessels in cost and efficiency are very cost-effective, the emergence of maritime patrol drones to solve this problem.


Back in September 2017, the Honeycomb HC-330 oil-electric hybrid quadcopter drone set off from Yantai and flew east, completing a 90-kilometer sea flight that took a total of 2 hours and 47 minutes, breaking the previous world record set by a British company quadcopter flying over the English Channel. The completion of this cross-sea mission marks the superiority of the performance of hive drones and lays a good foundation for the offshore application of Honeycomb UAV.


Recently, the Honeycomb HC-332 six-rotor drone once again went to a place in Shandong to carry out maritime inspection operations. The inspection operation was carried out by the drone with a 30x zoom camera and the inspection video was returned in real time during the operation.

At present, maritime patrol drones have been used in several applications.


Maritime Sea Patrol:


The maritime patrol drone has a wider inspection field of view than the traditional sea patrol vessel, and the inspection coverage is wider than that of the inspection, and any area that flies over the sea can send and receive information captured by the maritime patrol drone. It is more beneficial for the maritime regulatory department to grasp the dynamic information of ships in the sea area in time, and to transmit the image data remotely to the command center in real time through the existing communication network, so as to provide more timely and valuable information for emergency decision-making.


Offshore oil applications:


Offshore oil platforms have limited space to store large quantities of material at once, while satellite platforms are smaller, so there are often emergencies requiring the transport of small quantities of material. Compared with the high cost of shipping, maritime inspection drones in the guarantee of safety margin, to meet the vast majority of offshore oil platforms between the material transport needs, which not only effectively reduce transport costs, but also avoid unnecessary waste of resources.


Pirate Patrol:


By combining different loads, maritime surveillance drones are widely used in the daily patrol of islands and surrounding waters to improve the efficiency of integrated island monitoring and management.


Take inspection as an example, the HC-332 UAV system operating process includes: the development of flight plan, pre-flight technical preparation, mission, real-time data transmission, inspection and maintenance, after completion of maintenance, the UAV has the ability to perform missions again. The operator carries the UAV system to the designated operating area;


1. Drone assembly, ground control station equipment and mission planning;


2. Conducting an online self-examination of the drone through a ground control station;


3. Self-test normal and pass, the drone uploaded the route, take off independently;


4. Ground control stations monitor the operational parameters, flight paths and load information of drones;


5. After completing the test mission, the drone lands autonomously;


6. After landing, download the aerial data;


7. Drone power check with the ability to perform the next mission.



Since its launch, the HC-332 six-rotor drone has matured in various fields such as power inspection, oil pipeline inspection, railway inspection, highway inspection, sea patrol, etc., and the UAV can be equipped with tilt photographic stereoscopic mapping camera, single-light dual-light tracking pod, micro-monomer machine head and other equipment to complete different operational tasks, and can be used with VR glasses to achieve 4K VR video real-time viewing through 5G network.
